ORDERING

Please order your cake through the website. We generally need one week’s notice to prep and make orders so the dates listed reflect that timeline.

There is potential for a last minute order up to two days prior so send an email if there is a cake emergency! Date availability is listed on the checkout page of your order. If your date is not available, try ordering for a day or two before as your cake will keep in the fridge for up to a week.

CANCELLATIONS

Unfortunately we are unable to offer refunds for cancellations at this time. Please let us know if something has come up and we will try to move your order to a different day. 

If you have changed your mind about something please let us know as soon as possible to make any changes. Please note a price adjustment may be required for flavour changes or add ons. Requests 2 days prior to pickup may not be accommodated as prep for your order will have already begun. 

PICKUPS

Cake pickups take place from my kitchen space in Hove.

Unit 1A, Stockwell Lodge Studios,

129-133 Rear of Conway Street

BN3 3LW.

Pickups are available on the following days and times: 

 Wed-Fri:12-5pm 

 Saturday: 6:30-7:30pm 

*Cakes must be picked up on your order day - they can not be held overnight due to limited fridge space*

If you need your cake for Saturday day time - please place your order for collection on Friday. 

If you need your cake for Sunday - please place your order for collection on Saturday evening. 

If you need to collect your cake outside of the offered times please check before placing your order. We can try to arrange an alternative option directly.

Limited parking is available. Please let me know if you will be arriving by car as a parking pass is required. Please make sure there is a clear, flat surface in the car to transport your cake safely. 

ALLERGENS

Please advise us of any food allergies prior to placing an order. Orders may not be accepted for serious allergies. 

The kitchen handles ingredients with all of the following allergens: gluten, eggs, dairy, nuts, peanuts, sesame, soya and sulphites. 

Gluten Free Cakes - most of our cakes can be made gluten free - although we cannot accommodate orders for serious coeliac disease as the possible risk of cross-contamination with gluten is too high. Please email hello@babushkabrighton.com on ordering a gluten free cake. 

SERVING AND STORAGE

Keep your cake refrigerated until roughly an hour before serving. Cakes will come on a board and in a box 2” larger than the size you ordered, i.e. a 6” cake will come on an 8” board and and in an 8” box. Please bear this in mind if you are wanting to serve it from a cake stand or when making space in the fridge.

In terms of temperature, imagine how a block of butter behaves - firm from the fridge, lovely and soft at room temp, shiny and sweaty if left out too long, and melted in the heat! This is pretty much the same for your cake.

CUSTOM CAKES

Please email hello@babushkabrighton.com in regards to placing a custom cake order for something that is not listed on the website already. This is ideal for wedding enquiries and bulk event ordering.

Please note we do not make copies of cakes. Feel free to send inspiration if there is a specific style or shape you are interested in. We would prefer a colour palette or mood to give us a feel for the cake idea rather than specific reference images of exact cakes. We will only accept requests we are confident in executing and have the capacity of fulfilling.

Let us know if there is a custom flavour combination that you are after as we may be able to come up with an option for you. This is dependant on wether we have the bandwidth for additional prep or recipe testing that week.
